Back to working out today after yesterday's rest day. Of course, my trainer Aimee showed me no mercy when she made out my schedule of travel wods! Today my workout "BW Ten" consisted of 5 Rounds for Time (5RFT) of 100 squats, 20 lunges and 35 push-ups. I really did not think I would make it through but I pushed on and got it done in just under 42 minutes. Good thing it didn't take me any longer, my granddaughter arrived shortly after and stayed with me for the day. She made me forget all about my sore muscles!
Being on vacation it is hard to get your proper meals but I am trying!
For breakfast: 2 eggs scrambled with 1 oz of diced ham and 1 peach.
Lunch: 9 almonds, 1.5 cups of red grapes and 1 oz of turkey breast lunch meat.
Dinner: it was late so I ran to McDonald's and had a grilled chicken bacon ranch salad minus the ranch, fruit and yogurt parfait (not allowed in Whole30 but I needed something), 9 almonds and 22 baby carrots cooked.
Snack: 16 baby carrots, 1 banana and 1 tsp sunflower seeds.
Overall, my calorie count was lower than it should be for the day considering what I burned in my workout. But that will only help toward my goal of losing weight!
AF Mom Lori
Through the years, I have worn many different hats as a mom. Boy and Girl Scout mom, Little League mom, Band mom and now that all my kids are not kids anymore, I am still a mom but have graduated to an Air Force Mom. Through my kids, I have met some of the most amazing people and my journey continues...

I'm still out of town so my routine is a little out of whack but I am trying to make the best of it. Today was a scheduled rest day, so no workout today. I will probably do some stretches before bed to try and relax. After 2 nights of restless sleep, I am ready to try anything! My meals are out of whack today also, but I am still maintaining my Whole30 diet.
Breakfast - 3 eggs scrambled in the microwave with half a small diced avocado and 1 ounce diced ham. Small banana and a cup of grapes.
Dinner - Cranberry, apple, grilled chicken salad at Denny's with no dressing or bread.
Snacks - 9 almonds and 2 cups of red grapes.
The fridge in my hotel room is all out of whack and all my food keeps freezing. So my grapes I am eating right now are actually frozen! This morning, I had to wait for my eggs to thaw so that I could cook them. Crazy, but I am trying to maintain my healthy eating while on my trip!

About 4 weeks ago, my oldest daughter helped me to make the decision to get my physical life in shape. We began a Whole30 Challenge eating a Paleo diet and began to incorporate fitness into my life in the form of CrossFit.
On this page, I will write about my progress and I hope that it
will inspire someone to get their life in shape too. I am learning a new
way to eat and prepare food as well as to adapt workouts to my
abilities. In just a short month, I am already seeing results and I love
it! One of the major benefits is that I have cut way back on my acid
reflux meds. Another is that my clothes are fitting better or not at all
because they are too big!!

Air Force Mom times 2
Proud Air Force Mom
It's hard to believe that just over a month has gone by since my daughter swore in at MEPS! On that day, she raised her hand and began her journey as an Airman. Although I went through this 3 1/2 years ago with my son, it was very different to watch as my little girl said her oath. Many emotions filled me, one being very proud to see her begin to live her dream. Less than 3 weeks from now, she will graduate as an Airman and take the next step in her career. I wonder just where her career will take her, will she travel overseas, stay stateside? Wherever she goes, I know that she will be welcomed by her extended military family! I myself have met some very amazing parents because of my Senior Airman son, that will continue as my daughter travels in her journey.
