Through the years, I have worn many different hats as a mom. Boy and Girl Scout mom, Little League mom, Band mom and now that all my kids are not kids anymore, I am still a mom but have graduated to an Air Force Mom. Through my kids, I have met some of the most amazing people and my journey continues...

Family is the Best Hug Ever!
I love that you provide ways we can display our love and support for our sons and daughters, husbands and wives. Although I will eventually give you my son's uniform I still love having it around the house. It sits on the back of his chair at his place at the dinner table.
Thanks Lori! I feel so special to be able to do this! Lots of Hugs.

New Senior Airman!
I love shopping; cooking, decorating, and spending time with my family...I dislike snakes (huge phobia...probably the biggest on record!).
I purchased the handbag over a year ago...maybe longer...I think right after you became affiliated with (at that time) Military Handbag.
Attached are photos of my Airman. One that was taken when he was in BMT, one when he returned from Iraq, one from his welcome home party and one in his dress blues when he was home from Christmas, also one of my handbag. He was just recently promoted to the rank of Senior Airman, I couldn’t be more proud!!!
This is so great, Lori! Wonderful idea! Keep up the good work!!!!

Blue Star Mothers Michigan Convention
Friday night we had Big Dipper Fun Night. A fun event to raise money for educational assistance for a worthy son/daughter, grandson/granddaughter of BSMA member or veteran as well as a veteran or active duty personnel. Our theme this year was movie night and you can see we had a great time dressed as Toy Story characters!
Saturday we had a mix of education, speakers and a memorial service for our fallen warriors and mothers since last year. Particularly humbling was a wall honoring our fallen from Michigan beginning with Desert Shield/Desert Storm to present. The wall was brought to us by Veterans of Modern Warfare, they share our mission of helping veterans with needs that are not met through other conventional avenues.
I was very proud to be a part of a check presentation to VFW National Home for Children from our Chapter, BSM MI 180, so that they can purchase a swing set for the children that has been on their wish list. We have been blessed with some generous donations and it was so gratifying to be able to give them something that they need. We also had presentations from the VA to learn about the programs that they have to offer for our veterans and how we can work together for a common cause.

Airman Nick, American Hero
I was recently nominated President of the Blue Star Mothers of America Denver Chapter 3! I am sure this new experience will afford me the opportunity to meet and interact with many people that love our military like I do.
I like that my son made the decision to be part of the 1% that serves our country. However, I do not like that we are so far apart. I have only seen my son once since he reported to his first duty station. It is a sacrifice for our children to be apart from their loved ones but it also builds character.
I love that your company offers great products with love sewn into every stitch. When I purchased my purse I did not have any of Nick's ABU uniform to send but I received a great creation from another of our wonderful Airman's uniform.
I also purchased an ABU Christmas stocking. I of course wish my son would be home this holiday to see it hung with the other family stockings but alas that is not to be this year.

Airman John, American Hero
Cindy, once an Airman herself, sent her son John off to BMT 30 years to the month that she herself left for Basic Military Training in January of 2010. She comes from a strong military family with several members who are currently serving, have served and even are getting ready to begin a new Air Force career! Cindy's stepson, enrolled in the Delayed Entry Program, is ready to follow the footsteps of his stepbrother in the Air Force. Next summer, another trip to Lackland for graduation will be in order. When not busy sending care packages and letters overseas, Cindy is busy with her farm and her cute baby goats.
I met Cindy through a support group for parents online, Parents of a Son or Daughter in the Military. Through the support group, I have met some of the most amazing people all with a common thread. We have formed friendships that other non-military families cannot understand. Only another military mom will understand, "My fellow Wing Moms get me thru the tough times and one of the greatest "side effects" of my son's military service is the wonderful friends I have made that won't go away when the military contract is done." I couldn't have said it any better Cindy!

Airmoms: Operation Graduation
As an Air Force Mom, I remember how much it meant to my family and my Airman when we attended BMT graduation to celebrate his accomplishment. Some families are not as fortunate for several reasons, one being lack of financial resources. Airmoms: Operation Graduation was created by two Airmoms after attending graduation and seeing new graduates without any family present.
I support organizations that support the Military and their families by donating 10% of my sales at Military Apparel Company. During the month of September, I have chosen Airmoms: Operation Graduation. As I am getting ready to send another of my children to Basic Military Training in a couple of months, I hope to not see another Airman standing alone at graduation.

Gini Squire, I am an AirForce Brat and Hooah Momma
I am an avid supporter of our Military in any and every way that I can, and a member of Blue Star Mothers, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Rolling Thunder. I have supported Rolling Thunder’s Mission since I was a teenager and always done all I can for Our Vietnam Veterans. I LOVE animals, most especially dogs and help with transporting rescued dogs to their new forever homes every chance I get. I have too many Gold Star Mothers and families that are very close friends and will always do anything and everything I can to make sure that Their Heroes are Never Forgotten.
I am a four time grandmother, one {Carson} living close, two living in Florida that I try to see at least once a year, and one living in Minnesota with her mother that I wonder if I’ll ever get to see.
My Army Son is stationed at Ft Bliss, Texas at the moment, he is being medically discharged due to injuries that he suffered on his first tour in Iraq. He times out in February but may not actually be released until after that due to the paperwork. He then plans on moving to Cali to finish college and hopefully open a restaurant. I am always hoping, praying that I get to see him sometime in the not too distant future.
Band of Mothers (group on Facebook), and a few Fathers, is a great group, very supportive and informative. I love how all the Band is always there for each other no matter!

Mialanie, my first grand-baby!
This bib and blanket was designed for my only granddaughter and made from her daddy's Air Force uniforms. Her parents are both Air Force, she currently lives in Germany with her mom and while her dad is in the US. The bib was created from his dress uniform and her Wrapped in Love blanket was created from his work pants and embroidered with her name and "Daddy's Lil Angel". I had this set custom made for Mialanie so that she will have her daddy with her until they are all together as a family again. At 3 months old, she loves to Skype with Daddy and have him read bedtime stories to her. Do you have a special item you would like to design a creation from? We can do that, Military Apparel Company is not just handbags. Want something special that is not part of our collection? No problem, we design custom creations as well. Let me help you!

Always a mom
My kids are getting older now and my husband and I are about to enter a new stage of our lives, empty Nesters. Wow, what a scary thought! I have been a mom for over 22 years and to think they won't be living at my home full time is strange. So now we almost start over to focus on each other again, it's almost like we are dating. Dinner and a movie or an event that is not kid oriented. Different but nice. Will take some getting used to but I think I can adjust. It's hard to realize they aren't the little kids who need my constant attention. I guess it's time to focus on the "big kid".
