Where have I been??

Wow, I didn't realize that it has been a while since I last posted. It's always when "....." comes it will slow down. But there is always a different busy. You think when the kids are out of school for the summer it will slow down. Then maybe things will slow down when they go back to school and the cycle never ends. Someday maybe I will get better at prioritizing my time, when Ariana graduates and I don't have anyone here in school anymore??? Probably not, it will just be a different type of busy again. That leads into another thought. I can't believe this will be my last year of someone in public school. Where has the time gone? My kids where just babies a couple of years ago!!

Ariana is already thinking of her future beyond high school and starting to think about entering the Air Force. I am proud that she is thinking of serving her country and following in her brother's footsteps. Aimee also will graduate from college next spring, two graduations in one year!! One college and one high school. Wow, will be busting my buttons for sure with pride!! My most rewarding job that I have ever held is being a mom and raising 3 independent kids that will certainly exceed in their chosen careers.

What a week

I can't believe it's going to be a week tonight since my son came home. Wow, did that just fly by. Best thing though, even though he's been gone for over a year we just pick right back up where we left off. I am so proud of the man he is becoming. For only 19 years old, he has already done so much more than most of his friends. He is seeing the world, managing his own money and life very well. As hard as it is to let our kids pick up and leave the nest, to watch them succeed in their life is the best reward.

I enjoyed the few days that I had all of my kids back in one house at the same time. Sad to realize that those days will become less and less as they move forward with their own lives. Aimee is back at school and carving her own way in the world. I just hope the world will be as good to her as it has been to Erik.

Ariana is still under my wing for a bit longer. It won't be long and she will be out making her way in the world too. I just hope that I have been a good mom for them, no one ever said being a mom was easy. I think it has been the hardest job I have ever had but by far the most rewarding.

I am very proud of all that my kids have accomplished in their lives so far.

Getting with the times

I thought I was up with all new technology but tonight my daughter talked me into joining Twitter. Not real sure on whether or not I will Tweet but getting the updates from some of my favorite websites might be beneficial. I guess if I want to stay on top of things I need to keep up with all the new technology options. So if you are on Twitter, look me up "aimeriana101"

My Military Handbag.com Collection

My First Blog

I am a Mom of 3 about to enter a new stage in my life with no kids left at home. My youngest daughter is in the middle of her Junior year in high school. My son is an Airman in the US Air Force and my older daughter is in her Junior year in college. Over the years I have been a Girl Scout leader, committee member for my son's Boy Scout troop, band parent, then I graduated to Band Booster Secretary and now President.

When my son entered the Air Force, I was drafted into a whole new world. Much of my life has taken on a new role. I actively look for ways to support our military. Less than a year ago, I found Soldiers' Angels. I have met some really great people who also are committed to supporting our military. Some of my closest friends are the Wingsisters and Wingbrothers I have met online in several of my support groups.

Last fall, I found a website where an awesome lady, Eve, makes handbags using the fatigues of our servicemen and women. Military Handbag.com takes these fatigues and turns them into amazing handbags and other accessories for family and servicemen. The best part is that a portion of the proceeds goes back to organizations that support the military. This made so much sense to me that in December I joined her company.

You can see all about the handbags and other creations at www.militaryhandbag.com/lori and on Facebook at Lori for Military Handbag.com
